After working as a chef for 13 years I became increasingly aware of the importance of educating people about where their food comes from. After speaking with a lot of people with kids, I came to the conclusion that many children have no idea about the origin of food and ingredients.

I was lucky and to have grown up in a family where homegrown and homemade foods were at the heart of the lifestyle, surrounded by farm animals, gardens, and nature.

I pondered how I could help change people's understanding, how I could use my knowledge of food to inform and entice the future generations to have a passion for real food, to give them the knowledge and make them curious about what they eat... and came up with this collection of illustrated children's books called "Cool Kids Know" - first in the collection is about honeybees and honey.

It's a short book with original illustrations made in watercolours and inks, kept simple so kids of all ages can understand it. Its feel and design were inspired by Victorian children's books.
